The world Organization of Pan-Islamic jurisprudence (wopij)
About wopij:
The world Organization of Pan-Islamic jurisprudence (wopij) is a responsible Islamic jurisprudential body that comprises an elite group of Muslim scholars, faqihs and dignitaries who belong to all different Islamic sects, schools and nationalities. It seeks to unify all Muslims around the world under the banner of 'There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger '.
The idea of establishing the IOPIF emerged out of a sense of deep responsibility and concern towards the conspiracies that are being plotted against Islam by its enemies who seek to further divide Muslims through sowing the seeds of sedition among them with the purpose of driving them into more sectarian struggles; which have resulted in enticing other nations into flocking upon Muslims just as flies flock upon exposed food.
Goals:
Given the fact that true Islam instructs its followers to hold fast all together by the Rope stretched out to them by Almighty Allah, even if they have differences among themselves over some issues, the goals that are sought by the IOPIF can be summed up in the following points:
· Working persistently for getting all Muslims around the world back to the fundamentals of true Islam. This can be achieved through highlighting and emphasizing the fact that Muslims' differences are just over subsidiary issues; which should never stir up discord among them.
· Co-operating diligently for defusing any seditions that might arise among the followers of the various sects of Islam. This goal is based on the Quranic verse in which Almighty Allah decrees that 'sedition and tumult are worse than slaughter'.
· Emphasizing the unlawfulness of unsanctioned shedding of the blood of any Muslim or non-Muslim person under any pretext.
· Contributing towards fighting against and uprooting the extremist thought and doctrine of those so-called Muslims who dismiss other fellow Muslims as being infidels. This goal is based on the fact that the Islamic Shari'a does not sanction such destructive thought.
· Calling on the scholars of the Islamic Ummah (Nation) to exert more efforts towards encouraging Muslims to come to common terms and spread mutual feelings of tolerance and love among themselves.
· Working for reviving the spirit of Islamic fraternity under which Muslims used to live in peace with each other for many centuries in the past before they became deeply divided by political struggles that exploited religion as a mount for serving secular purposes.
· Highlighting and stressing the fact that Islam is a religion of peace and calls for peaceful coexistence among all nations and peoples of the world, and consequently it rejects and disowns all forms of extremism, fanaticism, terrorism and unlawful bloodshed.
· Promoting the fact that true Islam guarantees the followers of other sects the right of expressing their opinion without facing accusations of being infidels or heretics.
· Promoting the necessity of reconsidering the interpretation of some fatawas and religious texts that are usually used by extremists to label other fellow Muslims as infidels or heretics.
· Confronting terrorism, terrorists and violence as well as all forms of intellectual, religious and sectarian bigotry. This goal aims to spare the blood and lives of all Muslims.
· Identifying, highlighting and activating all actual and potential common grounds among all various sects of Islam.
· Deepening and enhancing Muslims' understanding of the Pan-Islamic Doctrine and encouraging all Muslims to reject all erroneous religious interpretations.
· Urging Muslim religious scholars not to follow politicians' secular wishes by wrenching religious texts in order to serve and satisfy fleeting political goals.
· Spreading the spirit of tolerance and advice sharing among all Muslims as well as motivating them to observe and adhere to the rules and criteria of 'Prescribing of Virtue and Proscribing of Vice' (Al-Amr Bel-Maroof Wannahi an Al-Monker)
· Launching and maintaining a constructive dialogue among Islam and other religions and civilizations. Such dialougue would aim to promoting the spirit of tolerance and getting rid of the spectre of hatred that hinders peaceful coexistence among the followers of those religions.
